Schools, Colleges and Universities for the most part, do an excellent job. However, there is only a certain amount of time that any teacher or lecturer can spend with you, the student, and teachers rely on you overcoming (on your own usually), some of the more fundamental and personal barriers that exist which can stall your learning capacity.

Many confident and capable students freeze when placed in an exam situation, or exhibit test anxiety or panic. Extreme emotions and stress can result in physical problems for the mind and body when placed under pressure. Unresolved emotion and emotional issues almost always produce physical symptoms and diseases. Exam nerves and test anxiety produce stress and other negative emotions like anger, frustration and self defence. The body feels it is under attack and reacts accordingly. This isn't all in the mind, physical symptoms like stomach cramps or butterflies are stored in our bodies. We sweat, shake, lose colour, get a headache and generally feel unwell. The adrenalin response, or the fight-or-flight response causes some areas of the body to shut down, including our ability to think clearly. You walk into the exam room and your mind goes blank. That's got to be every students worst nightmare.

Don't let years of study go to waste!

Let me help you overcome exam fears and get the most from your studying, memory and powers of recall! You've heard of "state dependant memory". Your ability to remember depends on your emotional state. If your emotional state is nervous and anxious, such as when worried about a test, your brain is affected by the "fear" chemicals in the body and stops working properly.
You forget and are unable to recall facts and figures, places or names.

The highly effective SELF EMPOWERING TOOLS & TECHNIQUES that I will show you, enable you to beat exam stress and actually improve your mental performance. Learning this very short and easy technique, and using it during the whole of your academic year will enable you to work smarter, think more clearly, build your self confidence, recall with greater accuracy and perform better in just about every aspect of your life. You literally "choose" to be better at what you do.

Self improvement and self empowerment are so effective it enables you to take a break from your normal way of doing things and look to easier, quicker more effective approaches to your goals.

DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT!!!

Frequently Asked Question's

What areas do you cover? I work with students from:

University of the West of EnglandCity of Bristol CollegeUniversity of Bristol and University of Bath.

What subjects do you cover? All academic subjects are covered, at any level. The subject is immaterial, as the process of learning and the barriers to success are the same, no matter the subject to which you apply your endeavours.

Accountancy, Biology, Business studies, Chemistry, Drama, Economics, English language and literature, French, Geography, German, History, Italian, Latin, Law, Mathematics, Media, Music, Physics, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish.

How much does it cost? In terms of life achievement - not much!
There are several options available. We have morning appointments (3-4hrs) and afternoon appointments (also 3-4hrs). It is possible and sometimes preferrable to have individual sessions all to yourself. Or, you may prefer to spread the cost, and you can share a session with several of your friends in the same house perhaps. A group of 4 to 6 friends would work out at around £25-30 each. So cost depends on which options you choose.

Appointments can be as short or as long as you feel you may need, and we will discuss this beforehand. Follow up appointments are not often necessary, unless symptoms are severe, in which case it is unwise to attempt big change all at once, and a gentlier approach may be more appropriate.

After our initial consultation you may feel more comfortable with the security of having a telephone contact or email contact to seek further advice or support, in case issues arise at a later date that weren't relevant at the initial appointment. Telephone time and correspondence time, purchased by the hour and used over the subsequent months, can be a way of dealing with a wide variety of issues at your own pace and in your own time.

How can I contact you? In the first instance, please .
I will reply with my name, address, contact details, phone numbers and identity photograph. I do understand in these times, that safety is an issue, and anyone who wishes to have individual sessions, is welcome to have a friend present, or closeby. I also carry appropriate identity cards and documentation for your protection.

In conclusion: Would you like help with special learning difficulties involving shyness, fear of public speaking, low concentration thresholds, chronic fatique syndrome and even dyslexia?

This technique enables any of us to be in the right state of mind for learning. It clears away emotional and physical blocks to learning, the "writing on our walls", if you will, that says you're no good, or not good enough, too shy, too fat, too thin, too emotional, too rigid. The list of childhood baggage is endless. There is a huge amount of emotional negativity in people who store this stuff, that limits their ability to learn, and is a brilliant way to self sabotage yourself.
That is the challenge, of course, to get people to a more positive way of thinking. We all have the ability to learn, some just do it more easily or quickly than others. Sometimes the blocks we have mentioned are due to traumas in the past and substance sensitivity, whichever, learning disorders absolutely have got emotional roots.

Don't delay, or put it off until it's too late. It isn't just the exams. Your course work counts too!
